Frame Container Securing

To guarantee the safety and stability of out-of-gauge cargo during transit and prevent cargo damage and transportation risks caused by improper lashing, Sinotrans Container Lines has issued the Lashing Guide for Out-of-Gauge Frame Containers, delivering professional technical instructions on cargo securing. Safe shipment starts with standardized lashing operations!

Basic Principles of Lashing & Securing

  • 1. Dunnage support required between cargo and frame container.
    1. Place high-friction dunnage between cargo and OOG container floor.
    2. Secure adequate support between cargo and two end bulkheads.
    3. Nails are prohibited to fasten sleepers or wooden wedges to the floor of out-of-gauge containers.

Cargo Lashing Plan for Frame Containers

  • 1. Cargo loaded in standard containers shall not be secured merely with single-layer loop lashing. The following lashing methods may be adopted: cross lashing shall be prioritized. If no lashing points are available, multi-layer loop lashing shall be applied instead.

  • 2. For over-width cargo loaded on frame containers, the following lashing methods can be adopted: The sum of the safe working loads of all securing devices on one side of the cargo shall be no less than the weight of the cargo.
